Grog Diary in June 2019

Being just a damn good pub, we’re all about serving great beer and mouth-watering food, and not about filling in little boxes with names, dates and events. Let’s face it, it’d be a boring page if every day we entered, “Another cracking day at The Grog & Gruel“.

But, from time to time,  there may be something worthy of note. Maybe some live music, perhaps the odd beer festival, or maybe something happening elsewhere in the town that we think might be of some appeal to at least one or two of our customers.

So here goes…

A'Hooligan at The Grog & Gruel

Live Music with A’Hooligan

A'Hooligan are locally based musicians who describe themselves as a mad-trad group from the Scottish Highlands. Come along for some upbeat ceilidh music and catchy covers will get you out your seat and on your feet in the relaxed and informal setting of the Alehouse. It's going to be a good one! Find A'Hooligan on Facebook.

Live Music with Da Birlinn

We're delighted to welcome, for one night only, Da Birlinn to The Grog & Gruel. Calling in on their way across to the Isle of Eigg 22nd Anniversary Ceilidh, Da Birlinn features the rhythmic strings of Seumas Maclennan with the pipes of Peter Morrison and the driving Shetland style of Ross Couper’s fiddle. Definitely one not to be missed.
