Along with our sister business, the Clachaig Inn, Glencoe, we employ up to 50 staff for much of the year, with around 15 or so based here in Fort William.

We recruit new members to the team throughout the year, though we have peak periods during the lead into busier trading seasons, particularly the Spring. Positions are usually available for a period of approximately 3 months and upwards, with many staff coming for a season and staying for 2 years. The nature of the work is all that you'd expect from a pub and restaurant; serving food and drinks through to preparing the food in the kitchen.

Both The Grog and Gruel and Clachaig Inn have each been awarded the "Investors in People" national Standard, which sets a level of good practice for improving and organisation's performance through its people.

In addition, we are particularly proud of our flexible and easy going, yet professional approach to running these customer service businesses. The result is a happy work environment, with a strong element of teamwork, and the feeling that you are contributing to the smooth running of a successful business.

Working in Glencoe & Fort William allows you to meet a very broad cross section of customers and other staff from around the globe. Many of the friendships made here will last for a many years to come, as members of our alumni will testify.
